A hiker in China miraculously escaped a terrifying fall down a steep mountain slope… and he captured the entire breathtaking experience on camera.
Yang Meng was filming his hike through the Fanzengjian Mountains in Anhui, about 450 kilometers west of Shanghai, when disaster struck — and his handheld 360-degree camera caught him losing his balance and falling backwards down the mountainside just hit by the storm.
The near-death plunge down the slippery mountainside was nothing short of hair-raising: Yang slips and slides at a wild angle for what seems like an eternity, until a tree suddenly breaks his fall, saving him from becoming a human avalanche.
Miraculously, Yang emerged from the wild ride with only a few bruises on his leg and some minor cuts on his hand and thigh—what a stroke of luck!
He told CNN he feels lucky to be alive after that fall — but rather than scaring him off hiking, it only fueled his thirst for world travel even more.
