If you missed it, after their Saturday night win over Edgar Berlanga — that Crawford did indeed attend — Canelo said directly “no comment” when asked about a possible altercation with Bud.
However, when we spoke to Crawford on Sunday, the 36-year-old boxer told us he still very much wants to fight Canelo in the ring.
“I feel like this is a legacy fight,” he said. “I feel like this is the biggest fight in boxing today.”
If that happens, Crawford acknowledges he’ll have some challenges. He said he’ll certainly have to be aware of Canelo’s size and power. But, he told us, “I’ve been fighting bigger guys my whole life,” and he’s making sure he comes out on top.
“Of course I’m going to beat him,” the 41-0 star said. “I have no doubt that I’m not going to beat anybody I get in the ring with.”
Crawford doesn’t know when or where he’d like the match to take place… he just knows he wants to give the fans what they want, and Alvarez should too.
