On September 19, the 1000-Lb. Sisters cast member shared a video on her Instagram page in which she welcomed her new followers… while sending an important message to anyone who can relate to anything Slaton has been through.
“If you’re new here, my name is Tammy. Some of my friends call me Queen Tammy. You can too if you want,” said Slaton, who he does She is sometimes known online by the nickname Queen Tammy.
“Here on my page you will find motivation, reality from my side and, I hope, inspiration to continue your journey.”
Slaton starred on the TLC reality show for years, weighing in at over 700 pounds when viewers first met her and her sister, Amy.
The 38-year-old has since lose an incredible amount of weighthowever. It’s really impressive.
In his message to fans old and new, Slaton spoke about that journey.
“Whether you’ve lost 500 pounds like I have, or you’ve lost almost all of your weight, whether you’re dealing with depression or don’t know what to do tomorrow, know that you’re safe here,” she assured everyone.
Slaton also kept the vibes positive in the caption, where he added:
Welcome to All the New Faces! I’m so glad you chose to follow my page! Here, you’ll find motivation, inspiration, and tips that have helped me grow and become the woman I know I’m meant to be.
Tammy has over 789,000 followers.
She delivered this inspiring note shortly before returning to the small screen, as 1000-Lb Sisters Season 6 is scheduled to premiere on Tuesday, October 8th.
“Whether you’re on your own journey of transformation or just looking for a positive space, I’m excited to have you here. Let’s keep moving forward together!” the TLC personality concluded on this occasion.
Previously speaking to People magazine, Slaton said she had no real mental health support system during her darkest hours.
“The mental aspect of it really plays a big part,” Tammy explained this summer. “Being depressed and having a food addiction, eating my feelings, I was taking it out on food. There are so many things that can go wrong. Life is scary.”
It sure is.
