Gene Simmons isn’t joining other musicians threatened by the emerging use of AI in business – in fact, he’s leaning into it and is ready to live as a hologram in music.
The KISS frontman spoke to us on “TMZ Live” on Thursday about the band’s upcoming digital avatar residency… saying he and his bandmates are ready to rock it like digital pixels in the coming years, because if not the do, they simply become yesterday’s news.
Gene tells us that although his band will never tour as KISS in the flesh again, things for them are just getting started – that’s later selling your entire music catalogname and likeness with Pophouse Entertainment for around $300 million.
As for whether KISS fans will adopt holographic versions of themselves on stage instead of flesh, Gene says they will have no choice but… because technology has evolved so much that the entire show will be unlike anything anyone has ever seen. before. Gene goes on to say that he’s seen the first snippets of the show that’s happening, and compares it to ABBA’s phenomenal hologram shows in London… saying that the KISS shows are going to blow people out of the water.
Simply put, it’s multidimensional, grand, and jaw-droppingly incredible… so people won’t miss the human component when the shows begin in 2027. And, big picture… he has no problem adapting to the times and supporting up on technology to ensure KISS stays alive.
Gene says the future is here and AI is here to stay… so we all have to deal with it. It’s a rock and roll revolution, and KISS is leading the way into a new era!
