In a statement, the Israeli Embassy comments on the decision of the Animasyros Festival to end cooperation with it.
In particular, it states that “Animasyros has been a long-standing partner of the Israeli Embassy, with the belief that art and culture should be a meeting point that promotes dialogue, inclusion and pluralism.”
That’s why it characterizes “sad and deeply disappointing the fact that the festival has abandoned these values, cowardly succumbing to intimidation by anti-Israel groups and small political factions, and breaking off its cooperation with the Embassy. We had higher expectations…”
The Israeli embassy concludes its statement by noting: “Partners, and indeed all who value free cultural exchange, should condemn this decision and raise their voices.”
