But first, we wanted to get through the ending, which meant a return to Tulum, Mexico, to see what happened when the women met Joey’s family and then had their final dates with him before the proposal.
Joey’s biggest concern in this was that he would get to the top of this journey and someone wouldn’t select him. Pleasant…
Joey’s House Assembly
We started to feel the tide changing two weeks ago, and that only continued this week when Joey introduced Daisy and Kelsey to his family. Even the way he talked about them at the beginning of the episode was revealing.
“After I’m with Kelsey, I really see what real love and true happiness can look like.”
“I have no doubt that a life with Daisy will be special. It will be pleasant. There can be pleasure and surprises in everyday life.”
In one single, he talks about “real love” and “true happiness.” Within the different ones he talks about “pleasant” and “pleasure and surprises”. One is a woman with whom you date and have fun, the opposite is the woman with whom you propose your future.
This only continued when Daisy came to meet her family. They quickly realized that Daisy was all in, when she told her sisters, “If he had gotten down on one knee while we talked, I would have said yes, because I’m in love with him and I’ve never told him but and I really need that to come back from me… Be it me, I will select it day after day.”
Compare that to Kelsey’s response when they asked if she could get engaged. “I don’t think it’s one thing that led me to this, like, ‘I have to get married’?” she answered. “I’m not on any schedule, per se. If this is right for me, I assume it’s the specific person, if that makes sense.”
They then asked if Joey would suggest if she would be prepared, to which she responded, “I feel so.”
The family completely fell in love with Daisy, with Joey’s sister Ellie calling her “so sweet and sweet.” They also adored Kelsey, no doubt paying attention to the chemistry and bond she shared with Joey. Were they seeing what we were seeing?

Last dates
The nail in the coffin for us came immediately with Daisy and Joey’s last encounter. During a spiritual retreat, they were tasked with throwing a rock into the fireplace and expressing their deepest desire.
“My true desire is to continue to learn about you and grow together and see where everything can take us,” Daisy told Joey.
His counter said: “My need is for each of us to find true happiness, whether it be with each other or simply in general. I feel so fortunate to have met you and I know you deserve nothing but the best.”
Yes, that sounds a bit like a goodbye to us, and it wasn’t us. That night, she admitted that she was feeling “not me” during the day, but she still went all in, saying that she was in love with him. She didn’t get the validation she was looking for.
“It will be damaged if it’s not me. But when I’m being 100% trustworthy, I don’t think it’s me,” Daisy said in a confessional.
As for Kelsey, Joey’s response to her insecurities about the whole process was totally different. She shared that her parents told her, “at the end of the day, it couldn’t be you, and every time I just started crying.”
“You don’t want to take that into consideration. And it’s okay,” Joey responded to renewed tears. “I don’t want you to think about it either. I am not. I need you to imagine that you could be there.
Without saying anything definitive, he was giving her the validation she needed.
As for Daisy, she couldn’t get what was mentioned at the fireplace out of her head. “He said, ‘I’ve been in this place and I was completely taken by surprise.’ And then when he said that, I thought, ‘Oh. I don’t,’” she realized.

Daisy and Kelsey
When we saw Daisy knocking on a door, struggling to do what she knew was right, everyone expected a face to emerge from behind her. That face wasn’t Kelsey’s.
Feeling safe in her intuition about how the day would go, Daisy nevertheless sought readability from Kelsey by asking her how her week was. When Kelsey reported that she bought Joey’s validation on their date and felt good about it, Daisy knew her gut was good.
In the most surprising moment of the night, the camera showed Kelsey in the car on the way to Joey, in that beautiful beach setting we’ve seen all season. And we saw Daisy in the car on the way to Joey.
Then we realized that they were inside the similar automotive, holding hands as the live audience gasped. And that’s how Daisy got to Joey first, leaving Kelsey waiting in the car.
After he mentioned his speech about what their journey had been like, Daisy took over. “You confirmed to me how necessary it is to know my price,” she informed him. “Falling in love with you has been so enjoyable and I love you. But the thing is, you’re not going to decide about me.
When his eyes started to water, she continued. “Over the past few days, I have realized that you are not my specific person, and I know that I am not yours. And as much as it hurts, I know you said you want what’s best for me, so I’ll do what’s best for me and I’ll go.
When he offered to accompany her, confirming that she was right in her intuition that it wasn’t her, she declined. “You know, I feel like this is something I should do alone,” she said, carrying herself with grace and dignity.
Instead of letting him break her heart when she knew it was coming, Daisy took her moment and her story to give her closure in her words, even hugging Kelsey in the car and telling her how proud she was. the deceased mother could be hers.
“If I can love the wrong person so much, imagine how much I can love the best person,” she said in the car. It was a phrase that echoed back to her when Jesse introduced her to the next big reveal. single.

Speaking about how arduous the experience was, Daisy also admitted that she was “healthy and cheerful” now, a mix she hasn’t loved in a while.
“And now, I know it’s time to focus on the things I love and the people I love,” she said. “And so now, no, I’m not ready. And everything is fine. And I’m really happy with myself for realizing that.”
In other words, this was a no to being able to open her heart to like again now, which meant it was a no to any risk of being the Bachelorette. So was Melissa Georga the fan favorite? No, it wasn’t her either.

Jesse really fanned those flames after briefly chatting with Mark during the After the Last Rose part of the end. “And Mark, we’ll probably see you too, down the road, is all I’m saying,” Jesse mentioned cryptically.

She had already calmed his fears after her sisters shared that she had expressed some hesitation about being able to get engaged, when she informed him, “It’s not a field I’m trying to look into, it’s as a result of you that I’m prepared for an engagement, in truth. It’s because I can see myself with you.
The end result is that Joey it was I’m going to leave Daisy on that beach. All she did was beat him, which some might argue was a blessing for him. Still, it was emotionally draining, which is why he needed a break.
He was back very happy, although, the moment Kelsey approached him, they both discussed all the things and expressed all the love – with him saying “I like you” for the first time to her – and when Joey got down on one knee, Kelsey didn’t say no.
