Pirates of the Caribbean 6 It’s a try, but it’s still impossible for Johnny Depp’s return.
Fans of the beloved Disney franchise have been waiting a LONG TIME for the studio to reboot the films without their main star.
Hope was almost lost until producer Jerry Bruckheimer gave Pirates fans an exciting update in March.
But Johnny Depp fans? Not a lot.

‘Pirates of the Caribbean 6’ is on track to still be made
When promoting his latest film The Ungentlemanly Ministry of WarJerry Bruckheimer was asked about the future of his two biggest film dynasties: Superior weapon It is Pirates of the Caribbean.
Superior weapon 3 is all anyone has been talking about since the sequel was the big hit of summer 2022 and was considered the salvation of the film industry. Meanwhile, it’s been seven years since the last Pirates movie was released.
Bruckheimer admitted that releasing more sequels to both franchises would be difficult, but not impossible
“It’s hard to say. You don’t really know,” Bruckheimer told Comicbook.com. “You don’t know how they come together… Because with Superior weapon you have an actor who is iconic and brilliant. And how many films does he make before making Superior weapon, I can’t tell you. But let’s restart Piratesso it’s easier to put together because you don’t have to wait for certain actors.”

Certain actors? Like the guy who fought with the studio over abuse allegations made by his ex-wife, Amber Heard?
This seems like just a nail in that pirate coffin – or does it?
Johnny Depp’s future with the ‘Pirates’ franchise
Despite Bruckheimer’s assurances that Pirates 6 is in the works, there is still a lot of uncertainty about the reboot.
Except to say it’s intended to be a reboot.
The last movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales ended with a post-credits scene that perfectly set up another movie for characters Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), and Davy Jones (Bill Nighy).
However, when Pirates 6 was initially announced, the idea was to focus the film on an entirely new set of characters with Margot Robbie in the lead role.
She has since confessed that the project with her involvement is dead.

And now? Well, that remains to be seen, but prior to Bruckheimer’s comments, there were rumors that Johnny Depp could still return to Pirates as Jack Sparrow – just not as a main character.
O rumor indicated that Jack would be a supporting character in another pirate’s adventure.
Then again, while Disney may want him back, Johnny may not feel the same way.
During his libel trial, Depp said he felt “betrayed” by Disney firing him from the iconic role after what happened to his ex-wife. Therefore, the choice may well be made by his hands, and not by the House of Mouse.
