Nitish Kumar Statement: The National Commission for Women (NCW) on Tuesday demanded an apology from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for citing the importance of women’s education for population control. The Women’s Commission said, “Such comments are not only regressive but also extremely insensitive towards women and their rights of choice.” The Chief Minister of Bihar should apologize to the women of the country for these extremely objectionable comments.
As Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, I want to demand from every woman in the country an immediate and clear apology from Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
His indecent remarks in the Assembly are an insult to the dignity and respect of every woman.:”
Highlighting the importance of women’s education in the state assembly, Bihar Chief Minister said that an educated woman can stop her husband from having an affair.

CM’s statement should be taken as sex education- Tejashwi Yadav
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav told the media that the CM’s remarks should be understood more as sex education. Tejashwi Yadav said, “If someone misinterprets it then it is wrong. In a way, whatever statement the Chief Minister makes about sex education, whenever sex education is talked about, people feel shy and hesitant. If so, then people should avoid it.
