Bhumi Pednekar and Arjun Kapoor’s film ‘The Ladykiller’ has been released only a few days ago. The film stars veteran actors like Arjun and Bhumi, but was not promoted much. “The Ladykiller” was quietly released last Friday. At the same time, the film director has now broken his silence and confessed to releasing the film half-finished.
Bhumi Pednekar and Arjun Kapoor did not talk to each other before the release of ‘The Ladykiller’. People found the release of such a secret film somewhat strange. At the same time, a YouTuber shared a video of ‘The Ladykiller’ on social media after its release.
The director admitted his mistake
YouTuber on The Ladykiller said that the story is fragmented and the film feels incomplete. The film’s director Ajay Bahl reacted to this video. He was told in the comment box that the film was released half-finished. Many essential scenes were also not shot. He also told the reason behind this.
What was the problem with the film?
“To confirm, yes the film is incomplete,” Ajay Bahl said on The Ladykiller. Of the 117-page screenplay, 30 pages were never shot. The film doesn’t have many psychological beats, including Arjun and Bhumi’s wholesome romance, Bhumi’s alcohol addiction, Arjun being trapped, losing everything, panicking and running away from the city. So it’s not surprising that the film feels disjointed and the audience doesn’t connect with the characters.
Was there any rift with Arjun?
There was also news regarding “The Ladykiller” that there was a dispute between the director and the cast. Ajay Bahl denied this. “Now about the rumors that are coming out, yes, as a director it was very difficult to shoot ‘The Ladykiller’,” he said. It was great working with Arjun and Bhumi. His heart and soul were in the film. The problems were different.
