The Alpha Optimism was at sea between mainland Malaysia and Borneo when its crew spotted the sinking ship.
According to the company, “our crew, while carrying out their duties, noticed that a fishing vessel was sinking and there were still five people on board with life jackets. Our captain immediately activated the general alarm and informed our company. We instructed our captain Apostolos Pouladias to begin the rescue and rescue operation of the people.”
“Our company is very aware of these issues. This is the philosophy of the Greek sailors,” notes Alpha Bulker, adding that “our captain and crew managed to save them all. They are currently safe on our ship Mv Alpha Optimism. We have provided them with food, clothing and all necessities, as it seems they were on their idle fishing boat for several days, without any other ship or vessel trying to rescue them.”
They all have Indonesian citizenship.”
“We would like to congratulate our captain and crew for their professionalism,” notes Alpha Bulkers
