The primary surplus of the state budget on a cash basis in the eight months from January to August was 4.95 billion euros, compared with 5.6 billion euros in the corresponding period last year, according to data from the Bank of Greece.
According to the same data, the central administration’s cash result showed a surplus of 1,368 million euros, against a deficit of 964 million euros in the corresponding period of 2023.
During this period, regular budget revenues stood at €43.422 billion, up from €39.678 billion last year.
As for regular budgetary expenditure, it amounted to 38.76 billion euros, up from 39 billion in the period from January to August 2023.
