Although the price is high, the piece seems worth every penny… as it is truly unique.
It marked the first time in baseball history that someone had recorded 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a single season. It was also part of a game that some are calling the greatest ever played — as Ohtani finished the day with six total hits, three home runs, four runs scored, 10 RBIs and two steals.
As for the owner of the ball, he has not yet been publicly identified, but a witness at the stadium told cllct on Friday he would be about 50 years old.
According to reports, the guy entered negotiations with the Dodgers after securing the ball… but ended up leaving the stadium with it in his possession.

There’s no word yet on what he plans to do with it… but if he really wants to part with it, he could apparently get more than a few steak dinners, sports cars, and designer handbags in return.
