Before his arrest on Monday night, Diddy took to the streets of New York and interacted with fans… days before he ended up in federal custody.
Check it out… Diddy smokes next to a fan, named Chris Dayes (Christian Daigle)while listening to music on his cell phone. Diddy, dressed in sunglasses, a baseball cap and a Prince sweatshirt, looks completely at peace… even though a grand jury indictment was hanging over his head at that moment.
The insider tells TMZ that the fan encounter took place on the night of September 9, when Chris approached the music mogul to introduce himself as a potential new artist.
We’re told that Diddy respected the guy’s trust and invited him to play one of his songs… taking the opportunity to enjoy and listen to Chris’ track.
The insider said Diddy was impressed with Chris’ talent … and noted that he likely would have hired him if the circumstances were different — hinting at his legal troubles, which escalated with an arrest and unsealed indictment this week.
Still, the insider claims the Bad Boy Records founder was definitely in “good spirits”… Diddy even wished Chris luck in his career before parting ways.
The rap mogul seemed to carry that energy into the rest of the week… he was later spotted sunbathing in Central Park with his son, Christian “King” Combsin the hours leading up to his arrest.

Once again, Diddy struck a nonchalant attitude… seemingly oblivious to the legal drama that awaited him.
TMZ broke the story… Diddy was arrested and taken into custody Monday night when federal agents showed up at the Park Hyatt in midtown Manhattan, where he was staying.
U.S. Attorney Damian Williams later confirmed that Diddy was booked after sealed indictment filed by the Southern District of New York. The arrest comes about 6 months after Diddy’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami were invaded as part of an investigation into allegations of sex trafficking.
On Tuesday, Diddy was charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He was held without bail … despite offering a $50 million package.
