A jury has given its verdict in the murder trial of Carly GreggThe 15-year-old was accused of fatally shooting her mother with a .357 Magnum in March.
The Mississippi teen was found guilty Friday of first-degree murder, attempted murder and tampering with evidence.

As Gregg heard about her fate, she was visibly distraught… tears welled up in her eyes as the jury filed in, looking dejected after she was convicted of all three charges against her, before breaking down into sobs.
As we reported, home security footage was shown during Gregg’s week-long trial apparently following his mother, Ashley Smyliein his home… gunshots are heard off-screen, before Gregg, who was 14 at the time, sits on a stool in the kitchen and looks at Smylie’s cell phone.
Gregg then reportedly sent a text message to his stepfather, Heathto lure him into the house. He was shot and wounded in the shoulder while struggling with Carly for the gun when he arrived at the house.

Prosecutors initially offered Gregg a plea deal that would have seen her serve 40 years in prison…but she refused and her lawyers were pursuing an insanity defense.
On Thursday, Carly was seen in court apparently unable to contain his laughter — what prompted her to laugh was unclear, but it happened after her lawyer wrote it down on a notepad.
