Flau’jae Johnson It’s not all about being called an athlete who raps… LSU’s national champion and artist behind the hit track with Little Wayne says that his goals are much higher — as in Adele collaborations and Grammy awards!
TMZ Sports Activities caught up with 20-year-old Flau’jae just days after she dropped the music video for “Got Here Out A Beast” — which already has over a million views — and asked #4 if she believes she’s the best rapper athlete.
“I don’t know. I’m not them. That’s not my title because I’m really serious about this. Like I’m trying to do arena shows. I’m trying to tour. I’m trying to be a really established artist. I need to win a Grammy.”
After all, even a Grammy nomination is a big deal… and a lucrative nomination puts you in the history books forever.
Flau’jae collaborated with Weezy for her ultimate success… so we asked who she’d like to work with next.
“My favorite artist of all time who sings is Adele. I like Adele. I don’t know if you would consider this R&B, but I like Adele, Alice’s Keys. I like 6lack from Atlanta. He’s cold. So, I don’t know, a lot of different vibes.”
We also asked Johnson how his late father, Jason Johnsonalso known as Camoflauge, a rapper, would have been happy with his little girl working with a rap legend like Wayne.
“I think he would kind of be jumping on the partitions. Like, for sure, it’s a big second for me in my career. My debut challenge, I put Lil’ Wayne in it. The video with Lil’ Wayne, like, that’s exceptional.”
“So I know he would be happy with me. My dad actually did a song with Birdman. It’s called ‘Laying My Stunt Down.’ So it’s like a full circle moment, honestly.”
In addition to his burgeoning music career, Flau’jae is gearing up to return to the basketball court in just a few months, where he will attempt to win another national championship.
So, grandma or Natty??
“I would like each one, honestly!”
