Jay-Z‘s bought 99 issues, but not having a sportsbook in New Jersey isn’t one of them…’ he cut the ceremonial ribbon to celebrate the first Fanatics Sportsbook in The Backyard State.
The rapper arrived in Atlantic City on Sunday, hosting the grand opening of the sportsbook at the Ocean Online Casino Resort… pulling out a pair of giant scissors and cutting the big blue ribbon. Betting & Gaming CEO Matt King and Ocean Online Casino Resort GM Bill Callahan were also on hand for the occasion.
Founder and CEO of Fanatics Michael Rubin joined Jay-Z… celebrating wildly as the scissors came through.

The opening featured some of the sport’s top stars… including the golfer Justin Thomas who made the book’s top bet — $100 for Alabama to win the NCAA football national championship.
Quavo, Jalen Rose, Dez Bryant and Ryan Clark also attended the inauguration.
In fact, Jay-Z is intimately involved in the gaming business… last year, he wrote a letter to NYC explaining why he needs to open an online casino — a three-way partnership between his company Roc Nation and Caesar’s Palace — in Times Square.
Last month, Jay-Z announced that he would be incorporating sports betting into his legendary 40/40 Association for a pop-up during Fanatics Fest NYC… so Jay is all about playing these days.

Fans can watch the games in comfort, BTW… by having fun at The Gallery, which features an elevated bar and lounge with seating for 60 surrounded by slot machines, table games, and more. One of the featured attractions is the Fanatics sportsbook at The Gallery’s online casino.
Looks like Jay is bringing the Empire State of Thoughts to Jersey — and fans can place their bets on the model!
