Every time we read the Chronicles of Pontus we are enchanted by the information we can obtain about the unforgettable homeland. Details about the daily lives of the people who lived in the sacred lands of Pontus and also of those who followed the refugee route to escape the knife of the Turks.
An inexhaustible source of information are the writings of Joachim Saltsis entitled Chronicles of Kotioron, which were hosted in several issues in the “Chronicles of Pontus”.
In the issues published in the months of October, November and December 1945, Saltsis writes about what was happening in the Greek community of Kotiora shortly before the outbreak of the First World War, what the economic situation was like at that time and later after the war had started, and how the Pontians found ways to maneuver on various levels.
