Who created a fictional image of the “Simpsons” falsely suggesting the predicted present Donald Trump can be assassinated is attracting the ire of the present’s big boss, who calls it a sick transfer.
The drama began soon after Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire on the former president — a social media user posted a doctored animated image of Trump from “The Simpsons,” showing him in a coffin with the caption: “This is the first time I’ve seen a ‘Simpsons’ prediction fail.”
Now, this entire premise is based on misinformation (more on that in a minute)… however, “The Simpsons” showrunner Matt Selman continues to criticize the image within the strongest possible sentences.
Matt told TMZ that debunking the meme as illegitimate isn’t enough, in this case he also wants to defend the legendary show’s style of humor.
Aside from the completely classless nature of the fake meme, MS says he’s baffled that so many people seem to think it’s genuine.

FYI, this image of the cartoon Trump in a coffin NEVER appeared in an episode — and “The Simpsons” never had an episode with a plot about DT being killed either… people simply associated the faked image with this claim, and then the Internet did what it does.
Matt provides, “Anyone who thinks that ‘The Simpsons’ would come up with such horrific content on a family TV show doesn’t watch the show or have any understanding of ‘The Simpsons.’” In other words, we don’t play like that!
What made the fake murder meme plausible to many is the fact that the present has “predicted” many real-life occasions throughout their record-breaking run — however, in this case, they never referred to this horrific occasion.
By the way… this isn’t the main news story with a big impact that some idiot on social media tried to associate with the story of “The Simpsons”.
As we reported, Matt also recently dismissed a claim the show predicted Diddy‘s fast fall. Once again, just like the Trump meme, he marvels at how the once-fun and innocent real-world prediction game of “The Simpsons” has morphed into the kind of dark content he would never write into a screenplay.
