We would possibly have thought Fergie gave the worst performance of the National Anthem ever — but a new contestant has entered the chat for a shot at the title… and her title Ingrid Andress.
The country singer was chosen as the talented singer to sing the US national anthem on Monday during MLB’s special event… and as soon as she started belting it out, it was clear this was going to be a hit, for all the wrong reasons.
Pay attention… Ingrid was kind of all over the place with her notes during the presentation, and yes, she was quite off-key at several points — so bad in fact, that some players looked like they were about to burst out laughing.
To take Alec Bohm of the Phillies, for example… the digital camera panned to him during the song, and he was walking away with a huge smile spreading across his face.
The same went for other players who were standing still and taking it all in… there were a lot of confused faces—and a lot more notes of disapproval could be heard from the group. There wasn’t much cheering… but more cries of shock and dismay.
Like we said… it was objectively awful — that’s what the internet is saying, at least — and naturally, the Fergie comparisons were quick to come in… with many saying Fergie was vindicated.
As you understand, Fergie performed at the 2018 NBA All-Star Game and sang a unique rendition of the National Anthem. She’s held that crown for years, but now… Ingrid is the queen.
