Real estate sources tell TMZ…interior designer Julia Dempster sealed the deal on Thursday, shelling out a whopping $3,788,000 on the 6-bedroom, 6-bathroom Spanish Colonial Revival-style Hollywood Hills estate just a month after hitting the market.
We’re told the property had an impressive 250 showings, so it was clearly in high demand… hence why Julia had to dig deep into her pockets to nab it. Now she can sit back, relax and enjoy her new home, which is a true piece of Los Angeles history.
Considered one of the first, if not THE first, houses in Hollywood, it was nicknamed the Original “Outpost” in honor of the founder of the LA Times, General Harrison Gray Otishad it all to himself in the 1880s.
After the demolition, the current house was built in its place and changed hands a few times before finally passing into the possession of BB, where it lived for 50 years.
Bob – who died in August last year at 99 years old – hadn’t made any changes to the property since he bought it in ’69…so it had a lot of charm and original features.
