Honda Elevate and City receive more safety features as standard
Honda Cars India recently announced updates to enhance safety features across its lineup including City, Elevate, Amaze and City e:HEV. These updates aim to reinforce safety standards and provide customers with greater peace of mind on the road.
One of the significant upgrades is the inclusion of 6 airbags, 3-point Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) seatbelts and seatbelt reminders for all five seats as standard across all City and Elevate trim levels.
Additionally, the Elevate now has additional features such as adjustable headrests for all passengers, driver and co-passenger rear-view mirrors, and a digi-analogue instrument cluster with a 7-inch TFT display. Meanwhile, the City gets a new 4.2-inch TFT display for the instrument cluster on the base SV variant and an 8-speaker premium sound system along with a rear sunshade on the VX trim.
However, these improvements have resulted in a slight increase in prices for the City and Elevate models. The Honda Elevate now costs in the range of Rs. 11.91-16.43 lakhs (ex-showroom). The Honda City costs between Rs. 12.08-16.35 lakhs (ex-showroom). The Honda Amaze now costs Rs. 7.93-9.86 lakhs (ex-showroom). The City e:HEV is available in a single top-end ZX trim, priced at Rs. 20.55 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Additionally, the Amaze and City e:HEV have also received updates in terms of safety features. Both models now come standard with seat belt reminders for all five seats. Additionally, the Amaze sees the discontinuation of its base E variant, simplifying the lineup.
There are no mechanical changes to the vehicles. The Honda City and Elevate retain their respective engines. Likewise, the Amaze continues to be powered by the 1.2-litre petrol engine.
