We take timeless American foods like the Pop-Tart for granted. But apparently Jerry Seinfeld no.
His new film – his first as a director – is called Thawedand that tells the story of the development of this great invention.
Based on the film’s first trailer, however, I’m not sure if it’s strictly speaking a “biopic” (or perhaps in this case a “biopic”).pyeopic.”) It doesn’t seem very serious or very accurate for the historical record. Instead of, Thawed feels like an over-the-top comedy inspired by the real-life battle for control of the breakfast industry in the 1960s, with Seinfeld not only directing the film (and having co-written the script) but also starring in it, surrounded by a comedy cast. of stars.

Well, this was not at all what I expected from “Jerry Seinfeld’s directorial debut.” This is definitely not a movie about anything – or even a low-key workplace comedy about the people who created Pop-Tarts. It’s much more surreal than I expected. But maybe that’s a good thing?
