But it will also confirm the rumor that Bey covered Dolly Parton’s heartbreaking classic “Jolene.”
The tracklist reveal also spoils the appearance of country legend Willie Nelson on a song titled “Smoke Hour.”

Dolly Parton Believes Beyoncé Covered ‘Jolene’ for ‘Act II’
Once upon a time, Dolly Parton asked a woman named Jolene, “Please don’t take him just because you can.” She didn’t want to share the man, but it looks like she’s more than happy to pass the music on to someone else.
Dolly recently spoke with with Knox newsthe Knoxville News Sentinel website, during the 2024 season opening of its park, Dollywood.
The country music legend was asked point-blank about rumors of Beyoncé recording a cover of “Jolene” on her new album. This was the time to put an end to the lies – but it looks like it’s all TRUE!
“Well, I guess so,” Dolly confessed. “I think she recorded ‘Jolene’ and I think it’ll probably be on her country album, and I’m really excited about that.”

Fans have already proven that they love Bey’s new sound.
In fact, the first single from the album “Texas Hold ‘Em” debuted at #1 last month on the Billboard Hot Country chart. The milestone made Beyoncé the first black woman to do so.
It turns out that Dolly was one of the first to offer congratulations.
“I’m a huge fan of Beyoncé and I’m so excited that she’s making a country album,” Parton said in an Instagram message. “So congratulations on your number one Billboard Hot Country single.”

Dolly wrote and recorded “Jolene” in 1973, and the song became one of the most beloved songs in country music.
It should come as no surprise that Bey wouldn’t be the first artist to cover the song. Many stars took Jolene out for a spin, including Dollly’s goddaughter, Miley Cyrus.
Other artists who have covered the song include Olivia Newton-John, The White Stripes, Chiquis and Becky G, and Lil Nas X.
