To enjoy star Gina Bellman is opening up about her own breast cancer journey after being inspired by Kate Middletonrecent announcement.
The 57-year-old actress took to X (formerly Twitter) to praise the Princess of Wales for her video announcement on Friday.
“Catherine, Princess of Wales, demonstrated great composure and grace today in her moving announcement. Hoping her treatment is successful and also for a kinder world,” Bellman tweeted.
She went on to reveal her own diagnosis.
“I myself underwent treatment for breast cancer last summer. Until now, I haven’t had the courage to go public,” she added. “(Eight) months later, I’m back in high heels and filming 14 hours a day. For those in treatment now, there is light at the end of this tunnel.”
Bellman later thanked them for the support following his announcement, writing“Thank you everyone for the ❤️ I think the Leverage world is a little cocoon of kindness xx.”
Bellman played Sophie Devereux in the hit TV series and spin-off, Leverage: Redemption. She also played Jane Christie in the series Coupling.
On Friday, after weeks of speculation surrounding her whereabouts, the Princess of Wales released an official video, detailing that she was in the early stages of preventative chemotherapy for her cancer. While the senior royal didn’t say what type of cancer or at what stage, she called the diagnosis a “huge shock.”
Kate shared that she and her husband, Prince Williamdid not share the news with their three children – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5 – leading them to keep the diagnosis secret for months.
“As I told (my children); I’m doing well and getting stronger every day, focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirit,” Kate said in her message.
