Exasperated, Kyle Richards was caught on camera informing his family that Bravo wanted to resume filming “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” following his split from Mauricio Umansky.
Richards revealed to her four daughters, Farrah, Alexia, Sophia and Portia, that she wanted to “go back to filming” season 13 of her reality show after news of her split from Umansky broke in July 2023.
“As a result of everything that’s happened with this – I’ll call it a ‘scandal’ – if something happens in our lives like this, they’re clearly going to shoot it, even though we’re involved. ”, the OG “Housewife” explained in a clip from Umansky’s Netflix show “Shopping for Beverly Hills,” which premiered its second season on Friday.
Umansky, 53, and all four children were curious to find out who Richards, 55, might be taking photos with, which she avoided answering before apologizing for “taking them by surprise.”
“Coming out of nowhere, what happened and kind of surprised all of us, I know it was awesome, and for starters, I’m really sorry, guys, you need to take care of this,” she said.
Farrah, 35, interrupted by telling her mother she had nothing to apologize for.
“But I am,” Richards said. “I’m sorry about that because it’s not honest with you guys, but I’m very used to it.”
Sophia, 24, then chimed in saying “this time was totally different” and her phone was “blowing up” with everyone getting in touch about the cut.
“I opened Instagram and it was everywhere, like, it was totally different this time,” she said. “And it was positively laborious to feel like maybe I didn’t know the whole story.”
Portia, 16, also agreed that she was “scared” when she first heard the news.
“I was like, ‘OK, this is bizarre,’ and, like, is this really happening? Is there anything we don’t know?” she was intrigued.
Richards noted that her children probably “mechanically” assumed that she and Umansky were divorcing.
“Precisely,” said Portia.
Alexia, 27 years old, then addressed the difficulties of being in the public eye amid family problems.
“Unfortunately, the truth is that we opened our family and our home to the public eye,” she said in a confessional before crying.
“We owe a lot of our life and our success to the connections we made and the experiences we had, and that introduced a lot of good things into our lives,” she continued. “But at times like this it’s hard work.”
Alexia said many people tell her and her sisters that they “deserve” the attention surrounding their family drama because they “chose” to be on reality TV.
“That’s not honest either,” she argued.
Rumors first surfaced in April 2023 that Richards and Umansky’s marriage was on the rocks when the actress was seen without her wedding ring, though she quickly shut down the gossip at the time.
A source then confirmed their split in July, telling People: “Kyle and Mauricio have been separated for some time, but still live under the same roof.

“They continue to be friendly as they decide what’s next for them and their family,” the source added.
Although the pair initially dismissed divorce rumors, Umansky confirmed their split last September.
“Kyle and I are human beings, okay? We have feelings, we have emotions, we are going through an extremely difficult time, ok?” he informed TMZ at the time. “We are currently separated, we are not talking about divorce and we are trying to take care of these things internally, with ourselves, in private.”
Amid the news of their split, Richards has often sparked relationship rumors with her close friend, Morgan Wade, after repeatedly hanging out together.
However, the Bravolebrity has repeatedly insisted that they are simply associates.
Meanwhile, Umansky and his “Dancing With the Stars” partner Emma Slater sparked romance rumors last October when they were caught holding hands, but both denied they were dating and said they had just become good friends. .
Richards and Umansky married in 1996 and welcomed Alexia, Sophia and Portia.
The “Halloween” star shares Farrah with her ex-husband, Guraish Aldjufrie, to whom she was married from 1988 to 1992.
