The Netflix show gave viewers an even more inside look at the drama than last season’s Actual Housewives of Beverly Hills — including Kyle and Mo’s children’s quick response after being blindsided by cropped news reports.
Kyle Richards It is Mauricio Umansky marriage problems took over the new season of Shopping in Beverly Hillsafter Richards hinted at his points last season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
While the latter only included a few moments filmed after an informative article was released confirming that the pair had split – which were recorded after production had initially wrapped – the Netflix series had the advantage of taking photos afterwards as the world learned more about what was going on behind closed doors.
In reality, cameras have been rolling for BBH in the family journey that Kyle, Mauricio and all their daughters took because the PEOPLE The article broke, showing the difficult conversation the couple had to have with their wives, who had no idea what their parents were going through, at dinner just hours later.

The story was released during the eighth episode of the program, titled “Breaking News”.
“I first found out in relation to the article. My family and I were paddle boarding in Aspen and I saw my mom take a look at her phone and I see her face change and I see panic come over her,” recalled Alexia Umansky, 27. and he just had phone name, text message, phone name, text message.”
Sophia Umansky, 24, said she was shocked, adding: “I was like, oh my God, is there something I don’t know?” Regardless of her shock, she questioned whether they would all actually resolve the issue at hand or “sweep it under the rug,” which is apparently her family’s MO.
“Before the news came out, we had not talked about the problems with the family. I can’t think of hearing that from anyone other than your mother and father; this can be a devastating thing,” Mauricio said in a confessional, before opening up about the lifestyle differences he and Kyle are currently experiencing.
“We are simply looking at the issues in another way. She chose a very healthy lifestyle and stopped eating completely. Kyle is looking forward to being home, not being the big person that I am, partying, having fun and getting home late,” she added. “I’m still a social person, I’m not able to slow down that part of my life right now.”

As she and Mo talked before sitting down with the women, Kyle said she thought they probably knew something was wrong between them, acknowledging that it was “at our peril” that they hadn’t addressed their issues with their daughters sooner.
Mauricio also repeated the same joke he made in RHOBH, joking: “The only thing that makes me happy is you having the affair and never me this time” – referring to the Morgan Wade rumors – with Kyle repeating once again: “Better me than you once again”. Mo also joked about getting the apron Kyle was wearing in the divorce, with Kyle joking: “That’s all you’re going to get! Joking.”
The mood changed a little more after everyone sat down for a family dinner. Kyle first said that she wanted to go back to Beverly Hills the next day so Bravo could film some more scenes about the cut, opening up the conversation about what was going on between her and Mauricio.
“Is there anything we don’t know?” asked Portia Umansky, 16.
“We’ve had a tough year,” Kyle said, as Mauricio said he and his wife have been very busy these days and this is something new for both of them to navigate. “I have to learn to say no to certain things and not say yes to everything… this impacts my life at home,” he admitted, adding that he ends up carrying the stress of working at home with him.
“You also have a hard time being current when you’re at home because you have a lot of things on your mind,” Kyle instructed him, before saying that it was difficult for both of them to find a balance between what to share with their daughters and oversharing their points. “I’m sorry if you think I never shared enough, but that’s why,” she told everyone.
Richards clearly felt bad about not keeping the women more informed and they told her she had nothing to apologize for; They all thought she was “healthy” however, having everything finally opened up. Kyle added that no matter what, she saw their marriage as a “success story” – saying their family was “a testament to that.”

After the meal, all of the women were seen talking to each other about their conversation, with Alexia saying that “seeming like everything is fine all the time doesn’t mean you can solve the problem at hand.” Farrah, however, hoped the conversation could be a “catalyst” for her parents to determine next steps, but she wishes there was a better game plan for what those steps were.
Sophia felt like her parents had been sweeping things under the rug for some time, but didn’t want to reveal anything for fear of being a buzzkill. That said, she also didn’t want to read articles like the one about the breakup and wonder if they were true. “We should know the reality,” she added.
In the end, Sophia had a one-on-one conversation with her father where she told him that she expected him to be “100% trustworthy at all times.” She told him that she felt he was such a “constructive person,” she was worried he would “never tell you when things were bad.”
“I hope we get through this, but I know my mom and I are committed to working through this. I want you to know that even though I am anxious and we are going through a problem, I am still a satisfied man,” he said. “At the end of the day, I don’t know where we will be in a year, in six months… I hope we can work it out, I don’t know. Time will tell.

The final episode flashed forward three months, with all the women telling Mauricio that they felt there was a huge lack of communication between them and their parents.
“You’re telling TMZ, ‘No, we are formally separating’ making such an official statement like that if you didn’t even say it to us?” said Sophia, as Mo also admitted in an emotional confessional that she struggled to figure out the stability of what they wanted to say to the kids.
“I assumed this was already told to you by your mother and I apologize for that,” he then instructed them as they said this is something they should have already heard from them.
“Your mother came here and talked to me, and she said, ‘Listen, I want us to separate.’ She said to me, ‘Listen, the basics are: you go out, you date, you do whatever you want. I’m not going to ask you what you’re doing, I don’t need you to ask me what I’m doing. We are separated,’” he said then. “I was under the impression that you guys knew that. I 100% see that I caused my mother some pain and needed to potentially do something to preserve her.

They said he wasn’t “doing anything about it,” however, saying he had no right to sit there saying he “did too much.” He defended himself, saying, “I was willing to accept everything that my mom didn’t like and that she was upset about and just accept them,” before adding that he and Kyle didn’t have “any conversation at the end.” two months, in any respect.”
Mauricio then said cryptically that he had “the reason why we don’t communicate”, but he didn’t want to say them… maybe because they were on camera. He added that he will talk to Kyle about these causes later. “Today, where I am, I need space,” he added, “and I don’t know where she is right now.”
“Where she was six weeks ago is where I am right now,” he said, as Alexia told him that all they want is for them both to be happy, no matter what that entails.
The last time we saw the two talking to the women, Mo said he would never do anything to jeopardize “our ability to have family dinners”, promising to “be cordial with business and money”. He added: “We built all the pieces collectively. I will never do anything that is not cordial on any stage.”
