After almost 20 years, Princess Peach is in the spotlight again. Nintendo simply abandoned “Princess Peach: Showtime!” for the Nintendo Switch. This is the first time the princess has led her own game since the release of “Super Princess Peach” for the Nintendo DS in 2005.
“Princess Peach: Showtime!” – which costs $59.99 at Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy and Target – has the princess trying to save the day on a new adventure. After Grape and the Bitter Bunch attack the Sparkle Theatre, Princess Peach, with the help of the fairy Stella, and her group of Toads attempt to defend the place. The game has new skills and special attacks that will speed up the work of Uva and the Bitter Bunch.
As far as gameplay goes, you play as Princess Peach with various costumes and attacks – such as Swordfighter Peach, Patissier Peach, Ninja Peach, Cowgirl Peach, Kung Fu Peach, Detective Peach, Mighty Peach and others – to clear levels until you finally defeat Grape. and Bando Amargo.
After the surprising box office success of “The Super Mario Bros. Film” last spring, Nintendo has really been trying to capitalize on the popularity of the film’s characters. In late 2023, the gaming company released “Super Mario Bros. Marvel,” which earned a Game of the Year nomination, and this year, Nintendo released “Princess Peach: Showtime!” to bring extra players into the group.
In fact, the game designers made Princess Peach look even more like her big-screen counterpart, voiced by Anya Taylor-Pleasure, rather than how she usually appears in the games.
Available for $59.99 at Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy and Aim, “Princess Peach: Showtime!” It’s out now. In the meantime, you can watch an overview trailer below.
