Gwyneth Paltrowis reminiscing about her glory days… saying they don’t make movies like they used to – and criticizing the superhero style for saturating the market, despite her being in many of those films herself.
The Marvel star stopped by Sizzling Ones on Thursday when the host Sean Evans asked her for some comments from the author/director of “American Fiction” Jefferson Wire made at the Oscars… mostly, begging Hollywood to spend money on smaller independent projects like his.
Well, it looks like GP agrees… saying that she feels like studios have put more of their resources into big-budget superhero movies lately – and suggesting that work is struggling because of it.
Check out the video for yourself… Gwyneth kind of criticizes the superhero style for its lack of originality – even though including it is impossible to cater to as many people as the studios try, while also being unique and full of substance.
In fact, Paltrow knows a thing or two about superhero movies… she’s appeared as Pepper Potts – Tony Stark/Iron Man’s love interest in seven Marvel films – so she’s been around the superhero block, and that’s why what she’s saying is so impressive.
With that said, everyone knows that Paltrow got her start on lower-budget projects like “Se7en” and “Shakespeare in Love” — for which she won an Oscar — and she says art is in better shape when less money is concerned… because artists real people can take risks.

Gwyneth is certainly one of the many who seem exhausted in all superhero films… Paulo Dano, Martin Scorsese, Jennifer Aniston, Francisco Ford Coppola and others have talked about the style lately – with John Mulaney telling jokes about it at the Oscars.

Bigger than all those stars, though… audiences also seem tired of superhero movies. Just take a look at the box office returns of “Madame Internet” and “The Marvels” over the past six months or so.
You know something is wrong if you lose one of yours, like Gwyneth here…it’s time to rethink the components!
