Timothée Chalamet have a fan in John Travolta!
On Tuesday, Travolta, 70, took to Instagram to praise Chalamet, 28, for breaking a record that the Grease star set in the 70s.
According to IndieWireChalamet equaled the box office record after his two recent films – Wonka It is Dune 2 – each accumulated more than US$200 million. The feat meant Chalamet topped the two highest-grossing films domestically over the past eight months.
Travolta did the same between 1977 and 1978, when Saturday Night Fever It is Grease achieved the same in eight months, the vehicle reported.
“Congratulations Timothée!” Travolta wrote alongside a screenshot of an article announcing the news. “It’s great to have someone to share my box office record with. Best regards, JT.”
When ET spoke to Chalamet in December, he noticed your appreciation for all the success he’s been experiencing lately.
“I’m very grateful,” he told ET on Wonka premiere. “I woke up this morning very grateful. It’s my first big debut in Los Angeles, so grateful.”
As for Dune 2Chalamet starred in the sequel alongside his real-life friend, Zendaya. When ET spoke to the co-stars in February, they admitted that it was strange to kiss on screen in the middle of the romance with Kylie Jenner and its relationship with Tom Holanda.
“It’s very strange, because we are so close, platonically. In the scope of the film, that’s totally what’s happening, but I also feel like we’re so united now that it really is like another day at work,” Chalamet said. “I don’t know what that says about the nature of our work, but It’s just another day at work.”
