Arte France’s co-production of “The New Years” was presented Wednesday at a Collection Mania talk by Domingo Corral, director of fiction and leisure at Movistar Plus+. In it, he delved deeper into the exclusive content of Movistar Plus.
“I think TV is about high quality”, citing the three years of production of “La Mesías”. You need to have experience with vision, give them confidence,” said Corral.
“I don’t know how to make exhibitions that are not native. If one must make a gift that is genuine, it must be grounded in reality,” she added.
Featured programs included the legal comedy “Marbella,” which features a smooth-talking defense lawyer, Cesar, who defends mafias that happily live side by side in Marbella, “the UN of organized crime,” he says.
Corral also mentioned “Querer”, the first TV series by Alauda Ruíz de Azua, whose feature debut, “Lullaby”, was described by Pedro Almodóvar as the “best debut in Spanish cinema in years”.
An intimate family drama mixed with elements of psychological drama, Corral said, set in the lush native Basque nation of Ruíz de Alauda. The story, like “Lullaby,” brings up a few more uncomfortable domestic truths about the position of women in traditional family buildings. It activates a lady who, after 30 years of an apparently good marriage, asks for a divorce, accusing her husband of sexual abuse.
“Alauda has the ability to look at people with compassion when judging them,” Corral said.
