A minute of silence in memory of Pavlos Fyssasnoted the Parliament Plenary, following the proposal of KKE Member of Parliament Christos Tsokani, as today marks 11 years since his assassination.
“Immortal,” Mr. Tsokanis exclaimed, emphasizing that Pavlos Fyssas “lives forever through our struggles, through our demands. Because we know very well that we all must fight fascism in depth.” Referring to the people’s ongoing struggle against fascism, Mr. Tsokanis noted that the 50th KNE-Odegititi festival, which opens its doors in Tritsi Park, pays special tribute to “this great artist, fighter and anti-fascist.”
The observance of a minute of silence was requested, on behalf of the Presidency of Parliament, by the 6th Vice-President, Mr. Lambroulis, with all the deputies present (ND, SYRIZA, PASOK, KKE, Hellenic, Lysi, Niki, Pleussi Eleftherias) to stand.
In memory of Pavlos Fyssas, anti-fascist meetings are organized in the afternoon in Keratsini, at the monument to the murdered man, with a march to the Kokkinia bloc.
