11:15 AM PT — Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney simply released an announcement… saying they recognize Justin Timberlake’s willingness to accept responsibility for his actions — and to use his platform to raise public awareness about drunk driving.
He claims that Timberlake did not receive any specific therapy due to his status as a superstar… including justice should always be applied fairly.
10:10 AM PT — The primary images of Justin Timberlake contained in the courtroom are out… capturing the singer-songwriter as he and his attorney Ed Burke Jr. dealt with the allegation in his case this morning.
While he looked somber in some photos, he flashed a huge smile in others… looking quite relieved to put the whole ordeal behind him.
9:50 AM Pacific Time — Justin is speaking to the media outside the Sag Harbor courthouse… telling the assembled press, reiterating much of what he said inside the courthouse. He says he tries to hold himself to a high standard — something he didn’t do in this case.
JT provides that he could have made a special, more responsible choice, but he didn’t. He tells people not to get behind the wheel of a car, even if they’ve only had one drink.
Timberlake thanks everyone — from the residents of Sag Harbor to those in the courtroom to the police on the streets — for working through this course with him. He says he will do his part to end drunk driving and hopes everyone else can do the same.
9:44 AM Pacific Time — Justin Timberlake formally left the courtroom… walking silently in front of several spectators after pleading guilty.

9:07 AM Pacific Time — The judge has formally accepted Justin Timberlake’s plea deal… and he will do 25 hours of community service within a year, and pay a fine of up to $500. The judge thanked Justin for everything he mentioned and for talking about the center. His NY State license could be suspended for 90 days.
9:04 AM PT — The judge asks Justin Timberlake how the court will ensure this doesn’t happen again… and he responds that he can say with “the utmost honesty that I will not be here again” — joking that he’s not talking about Sag Harbor, because he loves the city.
9:00 AM Pacific Time — JT is saying he has had time to reflect on his actions and not dwell so much on his private personal needs. He says he understands his platform, one he has spent his life building.
Timberlake says he’s grateful for the chance to get an education, and that he should have made a better choice for himself. He says he was raised with a certain set of values… and that’s not it.
8:57 AM PT — Justin simply confessed to having consumed alcohol prior to his arrest and to driving under the influence. Remember, in July, his lawyer insisted that Justin was not drunk when the officers pulled him over.
8:53 AM PT — Justin Timberlake’s trial is underway… and as part of his guilty plea, he’s agreed to perform 25 to 40 hours of community service and will make a public service announcement, likely about DUI.
Remember, once again that day, Justin and the rest of *NSYNC did a PSA about drunk driving… so, familiar territory for the star.

The singer-songwriter arrived in a navy blue sweater and gray-brown pants, pink sunglasses covering his eyes… and a critical expression on his face as he walked up the steps toward his audition.
There’s a lot of shouting and screaming from photographers in the clip… and someone asks if he has any messages for his followers — though he chooses not to respond.

We met with Johnny WrightJustin’s longtime agent outside court this morning… however, he’s keeping mum about how the pop star is doing.

Timberlake’s legal team arrived at court ahead of Justin… prepared to show their support for the pop star as he finalizes his legal case.
Not everyone is supporting Justin, though… at least one protester — holding a photograph of a younger boy presumed dead in a drunk driving accident — is hanging out in the courthouse. It’s possible she’s protesting the plea deal Justin got.
TMZ broke the story… JT plans to plead responsible for that lesser charge — a visitor violation, a much lesser offense when compared to the original DWI charge, and then formally dropped that case.

While Justin’s charge has the word “impaired” in it, it’s not a DUI… and we knew he’d only have to pay a small fine of between $300 and $500 — pretty much a slap on the wrist for the mega-rich star.
Justin’s driver’s license is suspended in New York… a standard procedure for anyone who refuses a breathalyzer test, as police say Justin did again in June.
As we instructed you… Timberlake was arrested on June 18 after officers said he ran a cease sign and failed to stay on the correct side of the highway. Officers said he failed all disciplinary sobriety checks and ultimately arrested him — releasing him the next morning.

Timberlake had to enter his not guilty plea twice — being indicted a second time after his lawyers contested the first set of charges. paperwork due to some kind of error.
He has since changed his mind and decided to plead guilty on the lesser charge.
JT’s jokes told several times during his world tour… mostly poking fun at himself. We’ll have to wait and see if he laughs off this claim of responsibility as well.
