A request for the convening of the Committee on Institutions and Transparency is expected to be submitted this evening by five parties in order to request the transmission to Parliament of the Supreme Court’s conclusion of the elements of the case on the telephone monitoring and be discussed.
O KKE has already submitted the relevant request, while recently the president of Plevsis Eleftheria, Zoe Konstantopoulou, announced that her Plenary proposal was also agreed by SYRIZA, PASOK and the New Left. In her statements, Ms Konstantopoulou reported that she had communicated with Stefanos Kasselakis, Nikos Androulakis, Dimitris Koutsoubas and Alexis Haritsis, who expressed their unanimous support for her proposal.
“Everyone agreed that the analysis of the scandal is of the utmost importance,” he said, informing that by the end of today, the five Parliamentary Groups will present requests to convene the Committee on Institutions and Transparency and to summon the Supreme Court prosecutor. “I am extremely satisfied that the democratic reflexes worked in a way that does not allow the government to continue on the path of cover-up,” he said.
He concluded that the immediate convening of the Committee will be requested by Friday, when Parliament remains open.
