Prince William is praising his wife amid photo modification scandal.
The Prince of Wales gave a toast to Kate Middleton while spending time with a group of children at the opening of the WEST Youth Zone in west London on Thursday.
On a video shared by Sky Newshe kindly declined a compliment from a viewer who said he was “impressed” by his cookie decorating expertise.
“It’s actually not a spectacular job,” he replied as he decorated a cookie with purple icing. “My wife is the artist.”
He also said that his children – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5 – “are more artistic” than him.
His feedback comes as he, Middleton, 42, and Kensington Palace face harsh criticism after she shared an edited photograph of herself with her children on Instagram over the weekend.
The seemingly harmless photograph showed the Princess of Wales sitting happily in a chair with her children around her. Everyone looked pleased with huge smiles on their faces.
She shared the photo as followers worried about her whereabouts following stomach surgery in January.
“Thank you for your fitness requests and continued support over the past two months,” she captioned the post. “Wishing everyone a comfortable Mother’s Day.”
Hours later, however, it was revealed that the photograph had been modified. Major photography companies subsequently issued a deadly warning, which inspired other entities to remove the image from their platforms because it was untrustworthy.
On Monday, Middleton apologized for the alarm she caused.
“Like many novice photographers, I often experiment with modifications. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photo we shared yesterday caused,” she wrote on X. “I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. W.”
Kensington Palace did not release the original Mother’s Day snapshot.
It has since been reported by the Telegraph that the Duchess of Cambridge feels “terrible” about the situation.
The questions surrounding the photograph only strengthened Internet sleuths’ theories about Middleton’s health after surgery.
Although her rep told Page Six that she is “doing well” as she personally recovers from the operation, people speculate that she is seriously ill and even in a coma.
Royalty’s unmissable extra protection:
British comedian John Oliver even weighed in on conspiracy theories during “Watch What Occurs Live” on Tuesday.
“There is a non-zero probability that she died 18 months ago. They’re probably at ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’ – handling this case,” she joked.
He added: “I’m not saying that happened! I’m saying it’s non-zero until confirmed in any other case.”
“Until you see her with a copy in today’s paper.”
