Ryan Garciais conquering Devin Haney it was an instant classic and the boxing was great Shawn Porter is already salivating over negotiations for a rematch… counting TMZ Sports he thinks Dream can take revenge for the second time!!
Garcia (24-1) beat Haney (31-1) and shocked many fight fans by winning via majority decision on Saturday… becoming the latter’s first professional loss of his career.
Porter gave us some insight into what Haney should do next… and for the immediate future, he believes the boxer is better off taking a vacation and ignoring the criticism on social media.
“Do everything you can to get away from it,” Porter said. “Decompress!”
But after some rest and recovery, it’s time to train for revenge.
“When you’re ready, come back to me and we’ll talk about it and we’re scheduling a rematch with Ryan Garcia at whatever weight you want, on whatever date you want.”
Porter – former two-time welterweight champion – also knows how Haney can win… readjusting his speed from “attack to defense” to protect himself from the counterattack.
“He’s hesitant because he knows the defense won’t be there after the attack. So I think that’s something they’ll work on in preparation for a rematch,” Porter said. “That adjustment is all he needs because he has everything else.”
“Devin has a huge opportunity to beat Ryan in the rematch.”
Of course, Garcia vs. Haney II might not happen as soon as possible… Ryan shouted Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz, who currently holds the WBA super lightweight belt after the victory.
Plus, fans want Garcia to try again Gervonta “Tank” Davis …or fight with Terence Crawford or Shakur Stevenson.
