The mother of Fernando Tatis Jr.Two-year-old daughter is dragging famous MLB player to court in attempt to get him to dole out extra help for baby… but San Diego Padres outfielder’s lawyer claims she’s spewing lies in the process .
Jennifer Rodríguez claimed this week in court documents, obtained by TMZ Sports Activitiesthat in September 2021 – after a years-long non-exclusive relationship – she became pregnant with Tatis Jr.’s baby.
She said in the docs that initially, she hoped the two would work together to co-parent their son… but after a paternity test confirmed that Tatis Jr. was the father — the baseball player and those close to they began to treat the “imminent start as a business deal.”
She says all the conversations leading up to her daughter’s June 2022 start date led to her signing an NDA… and a private baby care agreement that followed, which she says she wanted to negotiate “alone” while she was pregnant with 9 months.
As part of the pact, Tatis Jr. — who signed a massive 13-year, $240 million contract with the Padres in 2021 — agreed to pay Rodriguez $20,000 per month.

Although she said Tatis Jr. has since fulfilled that obligation… she stated in the documents that after the birth of her daughter, he was largely absent from her son’s life.
Rodriguez said that although she and he will continue their romantic relationship until May 2023 – Tatis Jr. has only seen his daughter at five separate events… for a total of four hours.
And, she says to make matters worse, when she recently approached him and his close circle about paying more in baby aid when she discovered her annual salary would increase from $5,000,000 in 2022 to a whopping $36,000,000 in 2029 – she got resistance.
She is now asking to increase what Tatis Jr. has to pay into baby care funds.
“I realized how little (our daughter) has compared to the benefits Fernando receives from being an MLB visual star and San Diego native celebrity,” she said. “I also understood how much it will cost to help a child stay in Fernando’s place in life.”
In the documents, she stated that 25-year-old Tatis Jr. lives in a large house, drives fancy cars and “that in San Diego, if not across the country, doors have opened for him in every aspect of his life.” .
“Our daughter has the right to participate in this lifestyle,” she said.
Additionally, Rodriguez is asking Tatis Jr. to pay her attorney’s fees — which she says total about $250,000.
A court hearing on the matter is scheduled for December.
For half of Tatis Jr., his lawyer, Michael Straussmentioned in a press release to us on Friday, “Ms. Rodriguez’s determination to spread a false narrative about Fernando and the Tatís family is nothing new.”
“He is confident in the legal process and trusts that Ms. Rodriguez’s claims about him will not be brought to court. He loves and helps his daughter and can act.”
