International humanitarian law must be respected.

“The situation in Gaza is catastrophic”
“The G7 in its statement calls for “an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the unconditional release of all hostages, a significant and sustained increase in the flow of humanitarian aid and an end to the conflict. We fully support the efforts of the US, Qatar and Egypt to reach such a comprehensive agreement in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2735. The situation in Gaza is catastrophic and tens of thousands of innocent lives have been lost.”
“Protection of civilians in Lebanon”
“We are also deeply concerned about the situation in Lebanon”, highlights the G7 and continues: “We recall the need for a cessation of hostilities as quickly as possible to create space for a diplomatic solution along the Blue Line, in accordance with the Resolution of the Council 1701 Security of the United Nations. This is the only path to a lasting reduction in tensions, the stabilization of the Israeli-Lebanese border, the full restoration of Lebanon’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and stability, and the safe return of displaced citizens to their homes on both sides. We call on all stakeholders to protect the civilian population. We are committed to providing humanitarian assistance to meet the urgent needs of civilians in Lebanon.”
