US President Joe Biden will make an official visit to Germany from October 10 to 13, the White House announced.
Biden will travel to Angola after his official trip to Germany, a promise he made some time ago.
It will be Joe Biden’s first official visit to the German capital during his term. He will meet with political and state leaders to “further strengthen the close bond that the United States and Germany share as allies and friends” and “promote coordination on common priorities,” according to spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre.
José. Biden will seek to reinforce the two countries’ commitment to democracy and the fight against hatred and anti-Semitism, according to the same source. He also wants to “thank Germany for its support of Ukraine” and for hosting American troops, contributing to “the security of the United States (…) and the entire NATO alliance”.
Biden attended the G7 summit in Elmau in 2022 while his plane made a refueling stop at the US military base in Ramstein, Germany, but has not yet made an official visit to the country.
