Russia announced that it had shot down more than a hundred Ukrainian drones over its territory overnight, in attacks that caused limited damage but no casualties.
“101 Ukrainian drones (…) were intercepted and destroyed by air defense systems on duty,” the ministry said via Telegram.
43 of them were destroyed in the airspace of the Bryansk region (west), neighboring Ukraine. The local administration assured that according to initial information there are no victims or damage.
Another 18 were destroyed in Krasnodar (southwest), a region that borders Crimea, a Ukrainian peninsula annexed by Russia in 2014.
According to regional governor Benjamin Kantratiev, falling drone debris caused a “fire, which spread to explosives” in the Tikharetsky district. Residents were quickly evacuated, but no damage was reported, he added via Telegram.
