At a press conference at the Genoa Boat Show on 19 September, D-Marin presented its expansion plans in Italy, including its latest acquisition, which creates the most important marina complex in the Mediterranean.
D-Marin, a premium marina network, has recently acquired Porto Mirabello Marina, a renowned superyacht marina located in the Gulf of La Spezia, Italy. This strategic addition reflects D-Marin’s continued investment in strengthening its portfolio, expanding its presence in Italy to six marinas in some of the country’s top yachting destinations.
The Porto Mirabello Marina meets the requirements of the world’s largest and largest superyachts. It has 407 berths and offers excellent facilities such as a helipad, luxurious restaurants and boutiques. During the Genoa Boat Show press conference, D-Marin presented its vision for the marina, including the facilities and the envisaged positive impact on the local community and the region’s economy.
Porto Mirabello Marina is the third Italian marina to be added to the D-Marin network in 2024 alone, following the addition of Aregai and San Lorenzo marinas in the Liguria region. D-Marin has also undertaken the construction of Livorno Marina, close to the Azimut-Benetti shipyard, with the vision of creating a world-class marina catering to the finest superyachts. The first berths will be available in 2025.
D-Marin also manages the Punta Faro marina, near Venice, which was added to the company’s network in 2022, and the Varazze marina, in the Liguria region, in partnership with the Vitelli family, founders of Azimut|Benetti.
Nicolo Caffo, Regional Director of D-Marin Italy, adds: “Italy is one of the world’s top yachting destinations, while also being a key region for our drive to offer more sailing options in unique destinations. We are delighted to welcome Marina Porto Mirabello to the D-Marin family as it is an addition that strengthens our presence in Italy and our commitment to offering world-class marina services. Marina Porto Mirabello’s excellent facilities and unique location in the Gulf of La Spezia are perfectly aligned with our vision of creating the best yachting destinations in the Mediterranean. Another project of particular importance to D-Marin is the development of the Livorno marina in partnership with Azimut Benetti, and we are pleased to share details of the progress of our work to date.”
Pierluigi Peracchini, Mayor of La Spezia, said: “The addition of Marina Porto Mirabello to D-Marin’s core portfolio is a major milestone for our city. This partnership will further enhance La Spezia, which will emerge as a premier yachting destination, boosting the region’s economic development and enhancing our community’s connection to the world of sailing. We look forward to the opportunities this partnership will create, not only for the marina but for the entire region, as we continue to promote the beauty and hospitality of our coastline.”
D-Marin aims to provide comfortable and seamless boating experiences to its customers. Initiatives such as the ‘Happy Berth Days’ promotion, which offers free berth days at several D-Marin marinas, encourage yachting enthusiasts to enjoy different and unique marina experiences at their favorite destinations.
