Nissan Magnite facelift to see cosmetic changes and new features on offer
The Nissan Magnite facelift is gearing up for its festive season launch on October 4. Just a few weeks ahead of its introduction, the compact SUV has been spotted testing wearing camouflage, hinting at the car’s external changes.
The front profile is expected to get a revised set of headlamps along with new DRLs. There will be a tweaked grille design to give it a fresher look. The front and rear bumpers will also get some changes. The new alloy wheel design will be offered with a dual-tone look. The side profile will remain more or less the same and we don’t expect any changes here. The rear profile could come with a new set of taillamps with new detailing.
On the inside, the dashboard will remain unchanged, but we can expect some changes like new color tones, new steering wheel, updated touchscreen infotainment system with new user interface, new digital instrument cluster interface, and more.
Additional safety features like six airbags are also expected to be part of the update. We don’t expect Nissan to offer ADAS with this facelift.
Under the hood, the Magnite facelift is expected to carry forward the existing powertrain options. The 1.0-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder engine, producing 71 BHP and 96 Nm of torque, is likely to continue to be offered alongside the more powerful turbocharged version. The turbo-petrol variant delivers 99 BHP and 160 Nm of torque and is available with either a five-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. The naturally aspirated version is likely to remain paired with either a five-speed manual or an AMT.
We can expect Nissan to price it aggressively as the Magnite will continue to compete with established rivals including the Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
