A prototype for the next-generation Audi Q3 compact crossover has been spotted again. It already appears to be in an advanced stage of development, judging by the thin camouflage and production lights fitted to the vehicle.
The current Q3 arrived in 2018 as a 2019 model. The redesigned third generation modeIt is expected to be released late this year or early next year and is expected to launch in the US as a 2026 model.
The new Q3 appears to feature similar proportions to the current model, which makes sense given that the two vehicles are expected to share a platform, in this case Volkswagen Group MQBalthough the new Q3 is expected to receive the updated version of the platform known as the MQB Evo.
The rest of the design is unique, as the new Q3 features split headlights with thin daytime running lights similar to the ones Audi uses in the recent launch Q6 E-Tron electric compact crossover. The grille mesh is also a new design for Audi, and at the rear there’s a light strip that marks a new motif for the Q3.
Some of the prototypes feature a plug-in hybrid powertrainwith the charging port mounted on the driver’s side front fender. A mild-hybrid powertrain could be offered, though Audi has yet to detail any plans for the vehicle.
A future RS Q3 with a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-5 should also arrive, likely as a last hurrah for the engine. After 2026, Audi will They don’t release cars anymore with internal combustion engines.
A coupe-like Q3 Sportback is also likely in the pipeline. Audi never sold the Current Q3 Sportback in the US, and it is unclear whether this will also be the case for the new generation.
