Fatman ScoopHis dedication to hip-hop culture was felt in full on his last day on Earth… the veteran hype man took his final breath during a performance on August 30th and had just released a clubby anthem with New York rapper Dyce Payso hours before!!!
It’s a bittersweet moment for the budding MC… and TMZ Hip Hop caught up with Dyce on Thursday, where he hailed Scoop as a good guy who put in the hard work to bring their “Let It Go” collaboration to the forefront!!!
He plays us a recording of Scoop pushing for Funkmaster Flex to bomb the record on Hot 97… guest artists get paid whether the song hits or not, but Scoop was there to pass the game along.
Dyce tells us the record, which shows J-ray and Lil KimThe 2001 jam “Wait a Minute” was full of energy when he made it, and he imagined Scoop adding his touch to the chorus.
Jim Jones connected Dyce with Scoop and they created the track, and shot the music video soon after.
Waiting for your permission to upload Instagram media.
Scoop convinced Dyce to follow the chorus you hear on the record — and the Dipset alum feels he was eerily destined to get this collaboration.
As fate would have it, his next album is called “Tomorrow Is Never Promised” and will feature “Let It Go”.

Dyce is sure Fatman Scoop would want him to start the music in the streets… after all, his last words were, “If you came to party, make some noise!!!”
And that’s exactly what Dyce is going to do!!!
