The photo of the 14-year-old perpetrator of the Georgia massacre has been released.
The 14-year-old opened fire at Apalachee High School in Winder on Wednesday.
Colt Gray, 14, of Winter, surrendered when he was attacked by school resource officers inside the school, Barrow County police said.
The sheriff’s office said it “will not release body camera video or audio to protect the integrity of the investigation.”
The victims
Four people died in the attack.
It’s about two students and two teachers.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation identified the dead as Richard Aspinwall, 39, Christina Irimi, 53, and Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, both 14.
Richard Aspinwall
Aspinwall, a math teacher, was described as sweet and kind by sophomore Ariel Bowling, who was in Aspinwall’s geometry class her freshman year.
“He always pushed his students to make sure they were doing well in class,” Bowling told CNN, tearing up as he remembered the teacher. “He was very sweet.”
Michael Gordon, another student, echoed that, telling CNN: “He was a great guy… I had him — I’m in 10th grade — so I had him for a whole year and he taught me a lot.”
Aspinwall was also an assistant football coach, serving as the defensive coordinator for the Apalachee Wildcats football team.
Cristina Irimie
Irimie was also a math teacher at Apalachee Middle School, according to the school’s website.
One student, Isaac Sanguma, told CBS Mornings on Thursday that he was struggling with math. But Irimie was a “very good” teacher — she liked to tell “salty jokes,” she said. She never made him feel less than himself.
“He never made me feel stupid,” he said. “You could get a question wrong on the board and it wouldn’t make you feel stupid. He’d make you feel welcome.”
Christian Angle
Christian, 14, was described by his older sister as a “very good boy” who was “very sweet and loving”.
“He was so loved by so many,” Lisette Angulo wrote in a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for Christian’s funeral, which included a photo of the teen with a cake on his 14th birthday. “His loss was so sudden and unexpected. We are truly devastated. He truly did not deserve this.”
Mason Schermerhorn
Mason was a 14-year-old student at Apalachee High School.
