With time running out and several names being heard for Prime Minister from FranceEliseh’s sources reported that Emmanuel Macron continues to evaluate the cases of Xavier Bertrand and Bernard Cazeneuve.
This morning, according to the French president’s entourage, he discussed with right-wing leaders the appointment of Xavier Bertrand, confirming a publication in the newspaper Le Parisien.
Gérard Larche, president of the Senate, Bruno Retailo, president of the Right group in the Senate, were consulted.
In the afternoon, Bertrand, president of the Hauts-de-France regional council, who made no secret of his desire for the position, was summoned to a meeting.
The French President again consulted representatives of the various political forces, excluding the Rassemblement national and La France insoumise.
But there is a third, more unexpected name that emerged on Monday as a possible prime minister: that of Thierry Beaudet, president of the Council for Economic, Social and Environmental Affairs (CESE), a civil society body.
