He proceeded to create a new subsidiary company, under the name GEK Terna Urban Services GEK Terna with an initial share capital of 45 million euros.
GEK Terna Urban Services will be provided in a first phase with the activities – Terna Energy companies, which will not be sold to the Masdar based on the agreement that was announced.
This is, among other things, the field of waste management. Terna Energy has implemented the Integrated Waste Management project for the Peloponnese Region, which includes 3 Waste Treatment Plants (WTP), 3 Landfills and 2 Transfer Stations.
It also built and operates the Epirus Region Urban Solid Waste Treatment Plant in Eleftherochori Dodoni, which became operational in March 2019.
2.5 billion euro projects
GEK Terna intends to develop the Waste Management activity within which it is expected to auction projects worth 2.5 billion euros in the next period.
Terna Energy’s participation in the projects “Digital Transformation, Telematics and Unified Automatic Toll Collection System for the Organization of Thessaloniki Transport Project (OSETH)” and “Ultra-fast Broadband Infrastructures” will also be transferred to GEK Terna Urban Services.
