Kai Trump — the granddaughter of Donald Trump — delivered a speech Wednesday at the Republican National Convention, portraying the defiant former president as an ordinary, loving grandfather.
Kai, 17, took to the stage at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to show a completely different side to DT — who was officially named the 2024 Republican presidential candidate at the Republican National Convention.
Kai told the crowd that DT is just like any normal grandpa, sneaking him candy and soda when his parents aren’t looking, while also asking about his grades at school.
On one occasion, Kai said DT printed out her report card when she made honor roll to proudly show to all her friends.
She also stated that DT calls her while she is at school to ask about her golf game and to talk about his. During these conversations, Kai said she tells DT that she is in class and has to call back later.
When the two play golf together, Kai says that DT tries to get inside her head, but she won’t let him and he’s always surprised that he can’t, as she reminds him, “I’m a Trump too.”
Kai went on to say that DT always asks how she is doing even while he is dealing with his many court cases and he pushes her to succeed. She also mentioned that she was shocked by the latter Saturday’s assassination attempt against DT at his rally in Pennsylvania.
Kai ended his speech by noting… “A lot of people put my grandfather through hell, and he’s still standing… Grandpa, you’re an inspiration and I love you.”
Of course, DT was sitting in the audience watching Kai on stage with a smile like any grandfather would.
