Car sales in May 2024 witnessed major changes in the top 25, Maruti Swift is back!
List of the 25 best-selling cars of May 2024 revealed, Maruti Swift makes a great comeback. Maruti Suzuki contributed 10 cars to the list followed by Hyundai and Mahindra with 4 each, 3 from Tata and Kia and 1 from Toyota.
Tata Punch’s chart-topping streak is broken as soon as the new generation Maruti Swift is launched. The updated hatchback comes with new exterior styling following its latest design language, the interior has also been heavily refreshed. It is now being offered with more features and gets a more fuel-efficient 3-cylinder 1.2-litre Z-series petrol engine.
The Maruti Swift tops the charts with 19,393 units. The Tata Punch isn’t far off, but it came second last month with 18,949 units. The Dzire closely follows in third position with 16,061 units, mainly due to the growing demand from the commercial fleet. This number will increase further and will likely put it in the top spot when the new generation Dzire is launched in the coming months.
Fourth place is occupied by the Hyundai Creta, segment leader with 14,662 units. The Maruti Wagon R ranks fifth with 14,492 units sold last month. There is a notable new addition to the list, the Mahindra XUV 3XO, which has reached 13th place with 10,000 units and a drastic growth of 95% over the previous year.
