The beaches of Attica are full of people at polling time.
A few hours before the polls closed and with the basin’s thermometer “reading” 34 degrees Celsius, a crowd of people “flowed” to the beaches in search of a breath of freshness.
Something that has an impact today – a critical day for Europe – as the participation in European elections tracks at low levels.
As reported by the Deputy Minister of the Interior, Theodoros Livanios, at around 11:30 am. turnout was close to 13.1% – around 3 points above the same period in the June 2023 elections.
With the polls closing in almost five hours, voters seem to have “thrown everything” on… the beach!
