Yet another Hunger Games the prequel is on the way.
In the hell of the very successful book and film The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Hunger Games creator Suzanne Collins today announced the imminent publication of a sequel to her prequel, titled Sunrise at harvest. Almost at the same time, Lionsgate – the distributor of Hunger Games films – announced that he would turn Sunrise at Harvest into a feature film. Panem loves their synergy.
Francisco Lourençowho directed everyone Hunger Games film from the first sequence, On fireis in negotiations to direct Sunrise at Harvest also. To date, the five Hunger Games the films grossed $3.28 billion worldwide.

Last years The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes starred Tom Blyth as young Coriolanus Snow, the character who rules the Hunger Games in later stories, where he is played by Donald Sutherland. The film detailed how young Snow transformed into the monster of the later films and also chronicled his relationship with a Hunger Games participant played by Rachel Zegler.
Despite the fact that the prequel didn’t include stars from the original series like Jennifer Lawrence or Josh Hutcherson, it still grossed $337 million worldwide and received generally positive reviews.

The Hunger Games: Harvest Sunrise will revisit the world of Panem 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games, beginning on the morning of the harvest of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Massacre.
Collins’ Sunrise at Harvest will be published on March 18, 2025. The film adaptation is scheduled to open in theaters on November 20, 2026.
